Join us for a community celebration to learn more about the bridge’s history, enjoy food trucks and make signs to help cheer on marathon runners participating in the upcoming Twin Cities Marathon. The bridge serves as the finish line for the marathon. The bridge will be open for pedestrians only during the event. It will reopen to traffic later that afternoon.

• Aug. 15, 2023: Virtual public meeting
  • Attendees learned about the final design option selected for updated bike and pedestrian facilities on the John Ireland Blvd. bridge in St. Paul. The meeting included a brief presentation about what we heard from the community, the final bridge layout, information about next steps for the project and time to ask questions. If you were unable to attend, a recorded video presentation will be made available on this webpage soon.
