About this project
MnDOT resurfaced Highway 4, from Highway 212 in Hector to Highway 19 in Fairfax. The primary goal of this project is to improve the safety and pavement conditions of the highway. Additionally, several culverts along the route were repaired and replaced as part of the project to enhance infrastructure and ensure long-term durability.
Originally planned for 2027, the Highway 4 resurfacing project was moved up one year and constructed in 2026.
Traffic impacts
During construction, the detour route included Highway 212, County Road 16, and Highway 19 . Crews will do some striping work Spring 2027.
