Summary of work
Construction is scheduled to begin Aug. 3, 2026 on Hwy 30 near the Rochester International Airport. Work is anticipated to be late-September.
Work includes:
- Resurfacing Hwy 30 from 90th St. SW to Hwy 63
- Replacing culvert at Willow Creek
- Repairing several culverts and making other drainage improvements
Traffic impacts
- Beginning Aug. 3, a brief lane closure is expected during the culvert work (excluding the culvert replacement at Willow Creek - see below).
- Daytime lane closure on Hwy 30 for approximately two weeks, beginning Aug. 10: Flaggers and a pilot car will be directing traffic through the work zone during times when crews are removing pavement or resurfacing the road. Lane closures will only be in place when paving work is actively occurring. Outside of paving work, lanes will be open, including at night. Motorists should plan extra travel time.
- A detour on Hwy 30 will occur at Willow Creek during the box culvert replacement. The detour is expected to begin Sept. 8. It will be announced through project email updates. It's anticipated that the detour will occur for two weeks.
- Detour: Go south on Co. Rd. 8, east on 10th St. NW, north on 11th Ave. W and east on 20th St. NW to reach Hwy 63.
