Construction starts June 15 at Cedar Lake Road and Jordan Avenue South in Minnetonka, St. Louis Park
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Crews will begin construction on Monday, June 15 at Cedar Lake Road and Jordan Avenue South at Highway 169 in St. Louis Park and Minnetonka. This work will improve pavement, upgrade sidewalks, install new traffic signals and improve drainage. The project is scheduled to be completed in September.
MnDOT encourages motorists to be prepared for the following key traffic impacts starting June 15.
Lane reductions on Cedar Lake Road
Both directions of Cedar Lake Road over the Highway 169 bridge will be reduced to one lane starting June 15 through the duration of the project. There will be temporary four-way stop signs at both intersections of Cedar Lake Road and the east and west legs of Jordan Avenue South.
East side of Jordan Avenue South in St. Louis Park closed
Crews will close the east leg of Jordan Avenue South in St. Louis Park from the Highway 169 ramps north to Cedar Lake Road starting June 15 for about a month.
No access to/from Cedar Lake Road and northbound Highway 169
Due to the Jordan Avenue South closure, motorists traveling northbound on Highway 169 cannot use the Cedar Lake Road exit ramp to access Cedar Lake Road, and motorists on Cedar Lake Road will not be able to access northbound Highway 169.
The detour for northbound Highway 169 traffic to Cedar Lake Road is northbound Highway 169 to the westbound I-394 loop to southbound Highway 169 to Cedar Lake Road exit.
The detour for Cedar Lake Road traffic to northbound Highway 169 is southbound Highway 169 to Minnetonka Boulevard to northbound Highway 169.
During this time, the northbound Highway 169 ramps will remain open to access West 28th Street, which runs south of the ramps.
Once work is complete on the east side of Jordan Avenue South, work will shift to the west side of Jordan Avenue South in Minnetonka.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
