Stillwater Lift Bridge 2026 lift schedule begins Wednesday, May 6
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Warm spring weather and numerous lift requests for the Stillwater Lift Bridge have prompted the Minnesota Department of Transportation to begin the 2026 lift schedule effective Wednesday morning, May 6. Bridge tenders will return to staff the Stillwater Lift Bridge each day from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight, to begin the regular lift schedule.
The lift schedule is in effect roughly from late April through late October each year. The bridge will lift every half hour if boat traffic is present.
MnDOT also will respond to special openings after 12 midnight with a two-hour notice. Requests are to be made by calling MnDOT’s 24-hour Dispatch at 651-234-7110. When the bridge is staffed, bridge tenders will monitor marine band radio Channel 16 and relay any requests to the dispatcher.
The pedestrian/bicycle crossing spans the St. Croix River between Stillwater, Minn. and Houlton, Wis. and is part of a nearly five-mile bicycle/pedestrian trail.
