Major traffic changes began today at west Hwy 210 and I-94 interchange in Fergus Falls

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Major traffic changes began today, May 4, at the west junction of Highway 210 and Interstate 94 in Fergus Falls, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The on- and off-ramps at the west Highway 210 and I-94 interchange (Exit 54) have closed to all travelers, and traffic to/from Highway 210 is detoured to County Road 1/Tower Road (Exit 55) (JPG).

While the north bridge on Highway 210 is now closed, traffic on Highway 210 is running head-to-head on the south bridge to remain open for east/west travelers in both directions. Please travel with care.

Nightwork this week for bridge demolition

From 8:30 p.m. until 7 a.m., I-94 will close in both directions and traffic will be temporarily routed around the work area using the ramps. Minnesota State Patrol will direct traffic on Highway 210 during the overnight closures. The ramps will close again during the daytime. The work is expected to take up to three nights to complete.

Once the bridge demolition is complete, the ramps at the interchange will remain closed 24/7 through October.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
