About this project
This project will reconstruct Hwy 73 in and south of Kettle River.
Within the rural segment, the proposed project includes the following work:
- Remove and repave surface.
- Revise the intersection of Hwy 27 and Hwy 73 to remove the skew.
- Completely reconstruct the intersection, including the Hwy 27 approach, bypass, and turn lanes.
- Construct new roadside ditching and culverts, relocate utilities, and install new intersection lighting.
- Repair centerline culverts.
- Remove and replace existing signing.
Within the urban segment, the proposed project includes the following work:
- Remove all pavement and place a new surface.
- Remove all existing sidewalk and reconstruct it in the same location to meet accessibility requirements, adding a boulevard where feasible.
- Curb lines will remain the same except at curb bump-outs at or near intersections.
- Extend curb and gutter approximately 275 feet north of 3rd Avenue.
- Repair about 20 storm sewer structures.
- Line approximately 350 feet of storm sewer and clean about 250 feet of storm sewer.
- Provide new storm sewer to accommodate ADA intersection bump outs, curb revisions, and proposed curb extensions.
- Remove the existing roadway lighting system and install a new roadway lighting system.
- Remove and replace existing signing.
