Aircraft registration portal guidance

Our portal will allow you to pay registration fees and taxes for aircraft, as well as provide updates to insurance information. If after reviewing the below directions, you need any assistance contact us at arforms.dot@state.mn.us or 651-234-7201.

Aircraft registration portal instructions for new users

  1. Visit the Aircraft Registration Portal.
  2. On the main portal page, use the Register Here link to create an account. Fill out the required fields to set up your account.
  3. Return to the main page and log in to the portal.
  4. Once logged in, select the appropriate option from the dropdown menu: "I want to complete a registration application for the purchase of a new aircraft" or "Link my portal account to an aircraft I have already registered with the Office of Aeronautics."
  5. Follow the instructions to complete your registration.

Aircraft registration for returning users

  1. Visit the Aircraft Registration Portal.
  2. On the Dashboard, under the Office of Aeronautics header, select the appropriate option: "Registration application for the purchase of a new aircraft" or "Link my portal account to an aircraft I have already registered with the Office of Aeronautics."
  3. If you are registering under an organization, please select "New Organization" before you submit your registration.
  4. Follow the instructions to complete your registration.

Commercial operators application

  1. If you do not yet have an account, follow steps 1 to 3 under "Aircraft registration portal instructions for new users" above.
  2. Use the links in this order and fill out the forms: New Commercial Operations Organization, New Commercial Operations License Application, and Link my portal account to my Commercial Operations Account.
  3. Once the forms are completed, pay your Commercial Operations license fee.

Dealer instructions

  1. If you do not yet have an account, follow steps 1 to 3 under "Aircraft registration portal instructions for new users" above.
  2. Select "Aircraft registration."
  3. Select, "Other forms."
  4. Use the link for Dealer Registration to fill out the form.
  5. Submit the completed form.

Refund form instructions

  1. If you do not yet have an account, follow steps 1 to 3 under "Aircraft registration portal instructions for new users" above.
  2. Select "Aircraft registration."
  3. Select "Other forms."
  4. Select "Application for refund of tax."
  5. Submit the completed form.
