MnDOT invites community to learn about 2026 Hwy 25 Buffalo to Monticello project on Thursday, Oct. 9
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites area residents and travelers to a public meeting to learn about 2026 roadwork plans for Hwy 25 from Buffalo to Monticello, Wright County.
Two open-house style meetings will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Wright County Government Center, Rooms 1103-1105, 3650 Braddock Ave. NE in Buffalo.
- Meet and greet for businesses: 3-5 p.m.
- Public open house: 5-7 p.m.
Both meetings will provide the same information. There’s no formal presentation—just stop by anytime to see tentative detour and work plans, speak with project staff and ask questions.
This project, in partnership with Wright County and the cities of Buffalo and Monticello, will improve safety, traffic flow and drainage on Hwy 25, from Catlin Street in Buffalo to Kjellberg Court in south Monticello. Final design work will continue through 2025, with construction expected to begin in spring 2026 and wrap up by late fall.
Improvements include:
- Reconstruct the road surface from Catlin Street to north of Davidson Avenue, includes shoulders and turn lanes
- Replace or repair pipes and improve ditch drainage
- Improve to/from access on Hwy 25 at:
- U-turn south of Kjellberg Court (extend shoulder called a 'loon')
- South junction Wright County Road 131
- 55th Street
- Westridge Court
- 3rd Avenue
- Anderson Avenue
- Construct a roundabout at Hwy 25 and County Road 37
- Construct a roundabout at Catlin Street in Buffalo
- Wright County will construct a roundabout at Hwy 25 and County Road 113
- Install pedestrian access improvements, includes trail and all new roundabouts
