About this 2028 project
MnDOT will replace and update the 1943 Serpent Creek drainage structure beneath Hwy 210 which includes the water level control for Serpent Lake in Crosby. Project requires a detour.
Summary of work
- Replace the drainage structures with a new concrete box and a fixed weir (a type of barrier that controls water flow) to manage lake levels
- Reconfigure four underground storm sewer outlets into two, with added treatment features to reduce sediment and improve water filteration and flow
- Stabilize the surrounding soil to prevent future settling and protect the new structure
- Reconstruct pedestrian sidewalks and approaches
